Praying before meals..

So my boyfriend just told me out of nowhere while he is cooking “in this house we pray before we eat”.

We have had arguments in the past over this.

There have even been times where I haven’t eaten dinner with him because I don’t want to feel the pressure of praying.

Many times though I do wait to eat until he prays.

Sometimes he will force me to pray and all I can think to say is “dear Lord, thank you for this food, amen”.

I was not raised the same way he was. His dad is a pastor and he grew up in the church. I did not. Yes I believe in God and I’m grateful for all I have and I do pray on occasion but I am not one to pray before all meals.

He acts as if I’m disrespecting him and that I don’t respect his religion. But as I said above, I always wait to eat until he prays out of respect for him.

I’m to the point where I don’t even want to eat around him. It’s crazy how I’m suppose to respect his religion and his choice but he can’t respect mine.

Am I wrong or a bad person because I don’t pray before meals?
