Miscarriage at 12 weeks. Options and what to expect?

My family got the devastating news yesterday.

Now I'm doing research about options but wanted to know others experiences with this.

I'm scared of a D&C.

I like the idea of my body passing naturally, but scared it won't and also learned thos could make it go on for up to a month.

So far, the medicine seems like an option in the middle.

If you had miscarriage, which option did you choose and why? Would you do it the same if you could go back and choose again?

I heard it is a lot like labor, is that true?

Or is it more like a period?

My family and I are completely devestated. I'm glad to have the support of this group.
