What grades will my kids be in together ?

My sons birthday is September 25,2020
My daughter’s birthday is March 17, 2022
Will my son be a  1st grader and my daughter will be in kindergarten? Or will she be in preschool?

Answer

It depends on where you are and what the cutoff date is, from my school district it is December 1, but I know other areas the cutoff is September 1. My daughter is December 2019 and will start a year later than if she was born two weeks earlier. Hopefully she can start the 3 yo pre-k next year when she is almost 4.

Cut off date for kindergarten where I’m from is September 1st. So your son would start kindergarten in fall 2026 and daughter in fall 2027. Son in first grade when daughter is in kindergarten
