Do you give your toddler whatever they want to eat

Do you allow your picky eating toddler to choose what they want for dinner, or do you only offer them the one meal you cook and they can eat it or not?

My son eats whatever he wants and I'll even make suggestions based off of what he's eaten in the past. 
I'd rather give in to my toddler so he actually eats than deprive him of food or make him feel like he doesn't have a choice in what he eats 
In my personal opinion I look at it as if I were in his shoes. I don't have someone picking and choosing what I eat so why should I do that to my son

Forcing food on kids is a sure way to create eating disorder I make one safe food and they help pick out dinner for most part

No. She gets given what we eat, now if we are having something spicy i make her something else. But aside from.that she eats what we eat

I never force my son to eat what we eat. Now, I do make him at least try it. If he eats a few bites of it and doesn’t like it I will have something else for him to eat. I’m not going to force my son to eat something he doesn’t like. As long as he tries the food I make I’m happy with that. I don’t mind making him something else just as long as he eats.

I get mine to at least try it if he still doesn't want it I don't force it and give him something I know he will he. I just can't send my kid to bed with out eating.

No. I choose the meal and if she won't eat any of it after dinner she can have one of her safe foods to make sure she isn't going to bed hungry.

I give my son the option to choose. My husband and I love making spicy and/or more intricate dishes that may not be suitable for young taste buds, so I let him decide if he wants what we have or if he wants something more familiar to him. As he gets older he has been more interested naturally in what us grown ups are having.

I always keep something familiar on her plate. Usually fruit or veggie she likes and the main course might be something new or something she’s not a huge fan of. But she does a lot better when she has something familiar on her plate, she is more willing to try new food that way
