Usually I feed every 2 hour during the day and at night we go 3 hours bc of this situation. He’s such a sleeepy baby 😅 all he does is eat and sleep 
Though, throughout the day he sometimes does cluster feed 
I feel like I’m stressing this whole newborn stage too much..

I never woke my baby up to eat & she never lost any weight, I was also never told by my doctor that I needed to wake her up to eat so I wouldn’t worry unless your dr has specifically told you that you need to wake baby up to feed them every x hours

Has he reached his birth weight yet? Usually they lose weight and gain it back. If he has reached or surpassed his birth weight you can let him sleep a little bit longer stretches. If not it’s important to wake him up to feed every 2-3 hours

I’d say just bc of baby’s age it’s important to wake up and feed him. If this was a one time thing no need to stress but he needs to be eating every 2-3 hours if breastfeeding and 3-4 if formula
I clicked “normal” on the poll bc it is normal but you need to do what you can to wake baby up for a feeding when this happens. Maybe I should have voted not normal, meaning it isn’t good to skip feedings yet 
My daughter would sleep constantly at that age too. It was hard to try and wake her up, like really hard some days. Try and play with their hands to get attention. Maybe someone else can help wake them up. Diaper change baby and see if that wakes them up. Take their clothes off to just be in diaper, just anything you can to wake them up. It’s not always easy lol. But like I said if it’s a one time thing you missed don’t stress about it, just try and get baby up now and don’t let that become a habit. At the 2 week appt if baby gains enough weight (back to birth weight) you won’t have to be doing this anymore but the first 2 weeks it is important. Just a temporary thing!

Doctors will tend to over stress you out about this stuff. Midwives and Doulas do not. Your baby should wake to eat when they are hungry. My baby was underweight for the first few weeks according to my doctor, but she did just fine and gained her weight in her own time.

Even if he did get back to birth weight, I would still wake him up every 2 hours. I would wait until he’s 2 months to let him sleep longer stretches.
