How often should I bathe my newborn?

My baby just turned one month old today, and had his first bath a few days ago. How often do you bathe your newborn? I have been told 3 times a week, so I figured I would bathe him every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I am wondering if that’s too frequent?

I do 2 times per week until about 3 months and then we start nightly bath time as part of a bedtime routine. It really is up to you whatever you feel comfortable with.

As much as you want and you feel is okay for your little one’s skin is fine. There’s no set rules. Every country gives their own advice, honestly. Where I gave birth you give baths daily from birth but when I was in the US people say only a few times a week. As long as your little one isn’t getting too dry you’re doing fine ☺️

We bathed my daughter every night starting at 2-3 weeks because we noticed she slept much better in bath nights, but we only used soap and did her hair every 2-3 days.

I bathe my toddler twice a week, unless she’s really dirty and smelly. But newborn don’t need baths often, their skins are sensitive and you don’t want to dry it out.
