Who Has Dealt With Or Still Has A Jealous Mom?

I’m writing a book. I need to hear stories about people who have or had a jealous mom. What was it like? What did you experience? How far did they go to sabotage things for you? Did you eventually cut them off? I want to know the ugly truth.

Mine wasn't an extreme case but my mom was definitely jealous of me, and my older sister. This was demonstrated mostly through passive aggressive jokes (think mother Gothel from Rapunzel), but I have some highlights.
In high school, I was never allowed to wear nice looking clothes. Mostly she used the excuse that we couldn't afford nice things, which may have been partially true because I had 4 siblings. But I remember in particular a cute lavender jumpsuit my godmother bought me that my mom refused to let me wear, saying it was "too big" (it wasn't). When she caught me trying to sneak to wear it under a sweater, she made me change, and hid it in her closet, and refused to take it down for the next 3 years. By that time, it couldn't fit anymore so she donated it. She laughed at me being too fat to fit it, even though I was actually too tall by that time. Likewise, my older sister was also forced to wear ugly things and became known throughout highschool for the ugly overalls she was forced to wear. Even now, whenever I look nice, there's a backhanded compliment every time.
She'd downplay all of my accomplishments. Primary (elementary) school was fine, but at every graduation after, she'd berate me for being mediocre, despite me always being on the Dean's list, and even being nominated for student of the year in my country (Bahamas). She'd make "joking" comments about being ashamed of me, and me not deserving to have a graduation dinner (I actually never did get any graduation celebration of any kind until college, when my best friend threw me a small beach party.) Note, my mom herself got average grades in school and never went to college.
I was always too something. Too fat (I was average size), too quiet (I was shy but had a couple friends), liked to read too much. One time she saw me reading alone in my room, got angry, and made me come sit in her bedroom with my dad and older sister to watch a movie. I sat there and started crying cause the movie didn't interest me and that was apparently funny that I was such a nerd.
She'd make passive aggressive "jokes" about me and my sisters not being able to cook. We could cook a little, but she refused to show us how to fix anything when any of us were actually interested. Instead, she'd wait until we asked to go out with friends, tell us we could go if we finished chores, then after the chores were done, change her mind and say we had to stay home to learn to cook instead. And even when she "taught" us, she'd leave out crucial instructions and then laugh when the meal turned out just above edible. Every now and again, she makes comments about us being bad cooks, despite all of us moving out and learning how to cook very well on our own.
Seeing things listed out like this makes her sound evil, but she had some good moments. Just, there was always some unseen competition she needed to win. My oldest sister turned out just like her, always needing to be the best at whatever random thing she has in her head. The best dressed when we go out. The first to take her kid to Disney world. The one with the longest hair, etc.
