Am I the asshole?!

To start off I have a 5 year old son. My grandmother watches him durning the day while I work. My mom watched his mostly on random weekend if she wanted to send time with him.

The story-

So on a Friday about 2 months ago.. My grandmother had to go to a funeral and asked my mother to watch him for the day. She has a at home business.. She said she was a little busy but would love to watch him.

*I offered to stay home from work* They both told me no.

Well, the funeral was about an hour away.. so my grandmother is headed back from the funeral when my mom calls her going off because she felt like it was long enough and my grandmother needed to come get him.

Well, she is about an hour out still.. So my grandmother calls me to get baby since my mom is yelling and acting wild.

I call my mom and tell her I am coming to get the baby. She told me “You will not come get my grandson. No one tells me when they are picking my grandson up”

I got pissed off and said “no. I already left work. You are busy and he can just sit with me while she is headed home”

She proceeded to start yelling, calling me a b*tch and getting pretty out of hand. I told her to not call me out of my name since I don’t call her out of her name but of course I get the “I am your mom. You’re not mine.” So I hang up after telling her I didn’t care. I was about 2 blocks from her house. She then calls me back going off even worse about how I am not stealing her grandson from her house and if I show up she will call the cops or beat my ass.

Knowing this is probably going to get violent *it has in the past* I call my brother to have him bring baby outside and put him in the car.

He put my som in the car, has my mom runs out of the house.

I yelled at him to to close the door so I could lock the car so my mom couldn’t get to us. With the doors locked my mom proceeds to punch my passenger window while trying to open the door and then picks up a can of paint and smashes it against the window to try and break in.

My brother grabs her in a chock hold so I can leave. I turn around and get the car toward the exit. She then bites my brothers arm and grabs his private to get him off her. She then runs in the middle of the road to stop from leaving. Yelling at the top of her lungs that I am a pus*y for not getting out of the car to fight her and then punches the hood of my car.

I finally am able to drive away and take my son to work with me while I sit at my desk and cry 😂

Well.. she is mad that I am keeping him from her. Telling me I am “putting a kid in adult Bs” and then yelling at me EVERY TIME I speak to her or my brothers over the phone.

I did let my son go over there for the 4th with me there and she made this big scene and packed all his stuff up to bring home with me.. in front of him.

Soooo. Am I the asshole for saying she can’t see him until she gets her act together?
