irregular after weaning

i’m about to get my fifth period since weaning and my periods are still irregular. after the first one i kept starting 2-3 days later than projected, then my last period was exactly 4 weeks from the last (my usual period was always four weeks and one day) and now I am suddenly spotting and light cramping two days before i’m supposed to be starting the next one. i’ve read that it takes a few months for your hormones to bounce back out but how long should it actually take?? I weaned in February and got my first period back in April.
