Husband hates my parents

I am married to my husband for almost 10 years now. We have a son together. He is mostly good and treats me and our son well. Shares household chores, does things for and with our son. But we have always had issues with respect to his relationship with my parents. He hates them and cites silly reasons for it. No matter how many discussions we have over this, it always ends up without any solution. His point is that he will never be able to be amicable with them and cannot stand talking with them. So he says that we will live happily as a family without him having any contact with them. He says I dont have to talk to his parents since he doesn’t want to talk to mine. I feel like this is a very wierd solution which doesn’t feel right. I come from a culture (same as his) where marriage is union of families and not just couples. I am lost how to convey things to him.
