SOS Did I do damage to baby?

Question

I’m still at work and am seeing my doctor tomorrow but just for some food for thought, has anyone else ever been exposed by radiation while pregnant? I just had to take my nephew in for some X-rays of his elbow but needed to be in there if he needed to be held down. I was behind the glass for about 10 minutes but they didn’t give me the gown thing to wear. I’m 23 weeks…is that enough time for potential damage?

It's extremely unlikely! Most risk to baby from xrays occur 2-8 weeks after conception and only been seen to occur when high dose radiation has been used. Behind the glass is fine! My daughter had an xray when I was 28 weeks and I told them I was pregnant and they just had me wait behind the glass and said there was no risk at all. Try not to worry! Xx

You were well out of harms way behind the glass 💜 They didn’t give you a gown bc one wasn’t needed. Think of it this way - when you have X-rays taken, do you ever see the nurses/radiologists wear a gown while performing them? When an X-Ray is taken, it’s very localized, so the chance of it spreading to even the person giving the XRay is minimal to none.

your baby can be exposed to radiation anytime during pregnancy not just early pregnancy I would speak to your doctor
