What does this mean?

Question

I was going to sign my son up for kindergarten next year (I’m homeschooling him for pre-k this year) and it asks for this:
5. Present a Baptismal Certificate for every Catholic student.
6. File a custody statement with the school office for students of separated/divorced families.
My sons father isn’t and has never been in the picture. Not on the birth certificate. So, is that irrelevant to me? Or does that mean he can’t go to this school?

It’s not about dad being in the picture. It’s about the school knowing what the court is allowing for contact (who can pick up the child, who has educational rights for the child, etc). In your case just tell them dad isn’t in the picture.

I'd submit the birth certificate in lieu of the custody arrangement. 
As far as a baptismal certificate? If he's baptized, call the parish in which he was baptized to get a new copy if it is lost.

I don't think that should matter at all but you should contact the school. Show the birth certificate where there is no father listed and that should be all. I'd be appalled if a school would reject your child to homeschool through because there is no father in the picture.

It seems fine, if you aren't catholic you won't have the baptismal certificate and if you've not got a custody agreement just write to them and say no contact with father.
