Help please:)

Okay so basically, I’m 16 years old, 17 in a week and my period has been a mess for the past year. Basically thanks to covid I gained around 50-60 lbs, from 150lbs to roughly 205.

Previously my period was heavy and would usually last around 5 days, It wasn’t on a consistent schedule though and I would sometimes go longer than a month without getting it, but that was normal for me so it didn’t bother me.

When I gained weight my period started to become even less consistent and when I did get it it was light.

Last month when I got my period it was extremely heavy for the first four days, like changing a regular tampon every 2 hours. I’ve just got it again after about 5/6 weeks and it is again super heavy, a little less so than before but still way heavier than it used to be. The cramping is also a lot worse than before and I’ve been getting shaky from it.

I know that weight gain can cause your period to fluctuate but I was wondering if this is normal or not. I’m scared to go to the doctor as I’ve never been for anything related to menstruation.

Im just not sure what to do with this and I was wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation. Sorry this is so long I just wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything.
