Will a therapist want to send to a hospital for having suicidal thoughts?

I want to be completely honest with my therapist but I’m afraid of what could happen if I was. I have a lot of serious medical conditions and I want drs to take me seriously about my physical problems. Example I was on an antidepressant one time for migraines. I then ended up in the hospital for an issue. they thought I was just making it it up or depressed because of the medication I was on. Turns out it was really just cancer but if they took me seriously they would have figured out so much sooner.

Nope. Most likely not. Suicidal thoughts are actually quite common. They’ll probably do a risk assessment, but a lot of people think about suicide and don’t actually attempt it so it’s not necessarily an emergency situation all the time. There is a difference between contemplating and being actively suicidal with a plan and the means to act on it.

They will evaluate your situation and help you decide if a hospital is the best place for you. They generally don't force people, but you can express your thoughts toward it.

I just know I was advised that mine was a mandated reporter and if need be she'd report if I was trying to cause harm to myself or others. I don't know but they probably could send over like a mobile crisis crew to evaluate you and possibly admit you if need be, if any suicidal tendencies.

No. They would only step in if you've attempted suicide. They wouldn't just send you to a hospital they'd find a spot in an emotional health rehab and depending on what state you're in they usually can't legally force you, you'd have to agree and sign a form to admit yourself. Unless you actually attempt and an ambulance is called and you're a harm to yourself and others then they can forcibly admit you.

Yes, a therapist can actually report that....the only information ghey are allowed to pass along is if they feel like you are a threat to yourself or others....it is possible.

Mine did 😅 and all I said was I’ve thought about it etc I had to spend a week against my will on a grippy sock vacation which made me want to do it more and not seek help.

Better be honest than hurt yourself.
But antidepreddant for migraines?!

If you have a plan they will send you to a hospital. But if you just say you have thoughts I’m not 100% sure. You cannot be a danger to yourself or others. I really hope your situation gets better.
