Contractions?

Never got to really experience contractions with my first. The past 24 hours I’ve been having these excruciating cramps along with the top to middle of my belly getting really hard. Changing positions doesn’t release the cramps, walking, laying, sitting nothing helps til it goes away. Are these true contractions? They’re hours apart but I’m already 3 cm and 38w 4d

Everyone said you’ll know when they are real.. didn’t believe it until it was true, LOL. My contractions started very spread out, then went away around midnight one day. I was able to sleep until 6 AM. Then around 7 they started again, but only a few every hour… over the next 12 hours they increased. I finally was admitted at 7 PM. By that time, I was in tears and I had less than 10 minutes in between contractions. I was literally crying trying to eat dinner and my husband said we are going back to the hospital (I was sent home one that day already). However, I also had back labor which I hear is worse, but idk because they never wrapped around to the front until after my water broke and was fully dilated. Worse case, if you feel you should go in, go in. They’ll just send you home if you aren’t ready. That’s okay. Go back again when you think it’s time.

I'm in the same boat as you, but 36w1d... I also never got to experience labor with my daughter and didn't even get BH with her... Now, I've been having 2 different types of cramps the past week - one is tightening when I'm busy cleaning or bouncing on my yoga ball and they stop as soon as I stop moving. The other is period/diarrhea like cramps, they start kinda in the middle of my belly and then feel like they radiate downwards into my pelvis and my legs,  they also don't go away with moving, so I kinda just ride them out, but they so irregular that I can't time them really. My Dr wasn't very clear in telling me ok it's BH or prodromal contractions, he basically just said "oh its normal this far in your pregnancy"... So I know how you feel
