Has anyone had a false nipt?

I did the in clinic blood test to find out the gender early. It said boy. But I’m wondering if anyone has ever had a blood test for gender come back inaccurate or ended up being wrong?

If you did it at the doctors office, it is very unlikely to be wrong. Even more unlikely for it to be wrong if it says boy. The test is specifically looking for the baby’s DNA in you blood. So, the fact that it found male DNA (XY chromosome set) means that it’s very likely you’ve got a little boy on the way. If you’re excited for that, congrats! If you were hoping for a little girl, it’s ok to feel disappointed. I don’t know if this is your situation but moms are shamed so much for their feelings, and I don’t want anyone to have to feel ashamed, because that makes it easy to breed resentment. As a mom to 5 boys I understand if your upset and it's okay! I'm pregnant with my girl finally but I had alot of emotional gender dissapointments before she arrived.

If you had the test done too early or the fetal fraction was very low, then there’s a small chance it could be wrong. Otherwise, the test is 99.9% accurate.
