Sons birthday party

Hey everyone I made a post about this on another group, but since I made it, I spoke to my son and he is insisting he doesn’t want to invite a particular child to his birthday party.

Do you think my son should have to invite a boy to his birthday party, if he doesn’t even like the kid and he doesn’t want him there?

A lot of commenters did say my son should invite this boy. Someone said it would be fine to not invite the boy, but not have the teachers pass out the invitations. I think I will go with that, I can give out the invitations to the parents after the kids go in the classroom.

I WANT my son to want to invite his whole class, but he doesn’t want to. I WISH my son would say YES LETS INVITE HIM. But when I speak to my son he says no, I really don’t want him there. It’s his birthday party, so I feel like we should invite who he wants.

I try to RESPECT my sons opinion and actually listen to him. Sometimes I don’t agree with him, but I always take his opinion into consideration.

Why should my son have to invite a child to his birthday party that he doesn’t even like???? Do YOU guys hangout with people that you don’t like? Why are the expectations for children different than adults?

SO SORRY didn’t mean to post this in controversy corner! But I guess it is kind of a controversy

Edit- my son doesn’t dislike the boy, it’s just they aren’t friends. The boy has never spoken a single word to my son, or any other kids in the class for that matter.
