I think my marraige is over

My husband and I been marry for 7 years. We have 3 kids and in all that time my husband has been drinking. Over the past few years it has gotten really bad with him drinking every night. I have called the cops on him several times because he is verbally abuse to me and the kids. He has thrown food, remotes, toys and whatever he can find at me. The cops even called cops on him and nothing seems to help. Recently he was suspended from his job because he got in a drunk text fight with his coworkers. He promised he would stop went to aa but the very next day he got drunk. I don't believe him anymore. I haven't left because I keep hoping he will change for his kid. They need their dad but the amount of emotional abuse he has done to them. I'm broken afraid to take the next step
