Positive membrane stripping stories?

I’m 39+1. Tomorrow I have an appointment in the am with the nurse practitioner (because my OB had to leave the country due to a family emergency), and my induction is scheduled for tomorrow night. I was going to ask her to strip my membranes if I’m dilated enough. I haven’t been checked yet. It would be nice to avoid a medical induction if membrane stripping works and I’ve had zero contractions or labor signs.

I had a membrane sweep at 38w5d, I'd had no signs of labour. They wanted to avoid induction if possible. My induction was booked for Monday 9 March and I had the sweep on Friday 6 March.
My midwife told me to try and keep active for the rest of the day but not to overdo it, maybe a nice gentle walk, some light housework etc.
Had the sweep and then went for a 3 mile stroll, came home and did laundry, sorted through baby's drawers, repacked my hospital bag. Had dinner, went for another 2 mile walk and became very deflated that nothing had happened. Went to bed. Saturday 7 March I went through the day as normal, went grocery shopping, had a wander through the mall, came home, dinner etc and again went to bed deflated - not a single contraction or anything to signal labour was coming.
Woke up Sunday 8 March and just felt different - this was baby number 6, but I honestly can't put my finger on the different feeling - it wasn't labour, but I just knew the little guy would be coming. Set about tidying the house, feeding our cats and dog, making sure I had my daughter's bag packed to go with relatives. By 9am I felt wet, went to the bathroom and had my bloody show - ran upstairs and woke the husband. By 10.30 we were having regular contractions and were on our way to the hospital. Our son was born at 3.27pm that day :)
