Is this a lip tie?

Is this a lip tie? Also if yes does it look mild or does it need to be fixed? I’m exclusively breastfeeding and baby has no issues latching but I’m worried abt other issues it can cause.

No. The lip moves freely. This is normal anatomy called a frenulum and it's only a problem if it's so thick or tight that the lip doesn't move as it should.

Yes but if there's no latching issues there's no reason to put your baby through getting it corrected now. If you decide to in the future pediatric dentists recommend having it corrected around age 6 or 7 when adult teeth will grow in. If baby can eat well there's no need to have it done now.

Yes it’s a lip tie. Even though you are not having breast-feeding issues, it can cause dental issues in the future. My two year old recently had his lip tie revised because it was leading to decay on his top front teeth. We didn’t have it revised as a baby because I wasn’t having breast-feeding issues. But I wish I got it revised before his teeth came in, then we probably would not have had to face the dental issues.

My son has a lip tie and a good latch so we don’t need to correct it, my daughter did too and didn’t need it corrected.
