If you need to eat before taking amoxicillin 875mg? My brother has a throat infection and the nurse that saw him didn’t explain anything to him.

yes, he should eat before. it’ll help prevent him from throwing up the meds. nausea is a common side effect with those antibiotics

I work in healthcare so I just asked a nurse beside me and they said yes as it could upset his stomach.

Not necessarily, I was proscribed that when I got COVID and I could not eat most days; the nausea you get is insane tho. I couldn’t watch TV or listen to it because both motion and sound caused sever nausea. It’s highly recommended but not required. I would recommend plain oatmeal if he’s struggling to swallow.
