If a red head and a brunette tried for a baby would the child most likely have red or brown hair?

red will always be the more recessive trait. i will say though, genetics are weird. My son has light brown hair with red tint in it, so sometimes they can mix. which is even weirder when you see my dark skinned Mexican husband that has a red beard 🤣

My sister (older) has red hair from our dad and I have black hair from our mom. Genes are unpredictable 🤷🏻‍♀️

Much more likely to have brown but the fun of red hair is it just shows up in genes whenever it wants to.  There is almost always a chance of red hair 🤗

I guess redheads inherit two versions of the MCR1 gene. One from both parents. I’m lucky to have red hair and I love it! I get compliments all the time.
