In 2018, my mother started feeling a lump on her inner thigh which then moved to her outer thigh. She suddenly was unable to walk and when she went to the doctor she was told it was a blood clot. She was given a prescription and some pills from the doctor and further instructions. She took the pills and was getting better after a few days, but then didn’t follow the (further) instructions the doctor has given her. Since then, her leg has always been bigger than the other and since 2020 I’ve seen it look bruised. Sometimes it gets even bigger and hurts her. She refuses to get it checked out at the doctor because she said it’s a “spiritual attack” and not something for a doctor. Has anyone seen anything like this before? I can’t convince her to go to the doctor. We don’t have a good relationship anyway, but she needs to be alive to take care of my siblings and I would be hurt if she dies because she refuses to listen. I have said it to her time and time again and this time all I can do is to leave her alone. She’s in her early 40s. She has 5 kids, she delivered 2 via C-section and she has travelled overseas at least once a year since 2015. She has no underlying health problems that we are aware of.
