How would you describe contractions?

So Monday I was 1 cm dilated. (37+1) 
This morning (37+3) I woke up early feeling sick & nauseous. I went back to sleep thinking I’d wake up fine. When I got up, TMI I literally had watery runs diarrhea & the cramps have been on & off all day long. They’re more towards the upper part of my belly & my belly feels like it’s getting hard that or baby is just moving into a weird position. 
This is my 2nd baby, but I was induced with my first, so I didn’t get the real feel of contractions. They make me wanna crawl up in a ball but they go away. 
How would you describe contractions?

If they don't hurt its braxton hicks. If they start getting painful or very uncomfortable then I would think they're real contractions but honestly mine started out as a feeling like poop cramps where it felt like I had to go to the bathroom, and then they progressed to more painful and stronger cramps and by the end it felt like I was going to poop on the floor bc the baby was coming lol

Have you ever had to poop so bad but weren’t near a toilet and you got a shooting pain up your butthole? That’s what it felt like. Like I had to take a massive dump but couldn’t, you will definitely know when it’s contractions because you’ll keep feeling that pressure in your butt, it’ll be continuous.

I’ve had two children now, and they felt completely different for each pregnancy. My first labor I felt the cramps in my upper stomach like you described and it was this squeezing, extremely intense pain that completely consumed me. My second, I just noticed some tightening in my lower abdomen/back that didn’t really even hurt at first, it just felt uncomfortable. I went to the hospital because it was happening every 2-3 minutes for a couple of hours. Turns out I was in active labor and progressing quickly. I had to go in for an unplanned c section at 7 cm, but even at that point the pain was still manageable and didn’t feel at all like the contractions with my first. These were more of just rhythmic cycles of pressure in my lower back. Kind of resembled period cramps when it started getting painful.

With my first, I had really bad heartburn the night before, then early morning I had the runs and then the side of my pregnant belly started hurting it was a constant pain but it would vary in intensity. After running errands all day my mom convinced me to call the nurse hotline and they suggested I come in. I swear I wasn't contracting but after being hooked up to the monitor I found out I was contracting every 2 to 5 minutes. Baby came the next day. I was 38+5 weeks.

For me, I could see them and there was no question what they were when they were able to be timed and that's when they really matter.

I started having contractions that day early in the morning and could barely walk when I went to the grocery store. As the day went on they got more intense and I could barely get comfortable or lay down.

They vary depending on baby position. Back contractions are usually at the top of the hips. I also got sore on the front of my legs - don’t ask me why 🤷🏻‍♀️ for my second child I had contractions where the focus of the pain was below my belly button - more where old period cramps would be. My first was posterior - back labor and legs - while my second came out anterior - period cramps feeling.

With me the week I went into labor my poop was soft and I had Braxton Hicks in the day when it’s Laber I was having contractions and a light pink discharge they came out like Bobby shit and I lost my mucous plug two days prior I didn’t get nauseous or anything but the day I wanted to Laber I woke up with really severe bad contractions that came every 2 to 5 minutes  they were under 10 minutes I went into labor that night I don’t know how to describe them but I know my stomach got tight it hurts so bad I could not take it they did not go away at all day they were between two and 10 minutes and consistent two weeks before that I was 1 1/2 cm dilated the day I went into labor went to the hospital with my contractions and I was only 2 cm dilated and two hours they checked me again and I was three I had my baby at 11 PM that night it would hurt so bad you would have a bloody show and your contractions can come between 5 to 10 minutes or in other peoples cases every 20 minutes or something for early labor I think
