Overthinking everything

I never thought I was an over thinker and down right sensitive until now. I had a play date with one of our good friends and her son and another mom and her little girl that’s in the same preschool class. The minute they got there the mom kept saying how her little girl loved my sons friend and that she always talks about him. This was all in front of my son. Granted- these are 4 year olds but it kind of irked me. Yes they are so young and it’s really cute but we are already at the age where kids play favorites. I know it’s silly but I guess as a former teacher I would have never said that in front of others and their kids maybe when both the moms

Are one on one. Am I being just downright silly? I think I am but I got this over protective feeling when it happened.
