He knew it too
I wrote before about my husband not helping with my daughter. Just now I told him it had been two hours since putting my daughter to bed and that we should check on her. He tells me “okay I’ll pause the show and when you get back I’ll restart it.” I looked at him and said “oh I’m getting her?” And he said “I guess I can” and goes to check on her. First I don’t mine getting her and checking on her but he automatically put it on me.
I then here him call from her room that he needs my help because she pooped. He knows full well as soon as she sees me all bets are off. I’m going to be putting her back to bed. So I go in and hand him a couple wipes while he cleans her. He then tells me “okay Mom you can sneak out” to which I kiss her and leave. Ten seconds later she’s screaming “Mama! Mama!” and he comes out of her room saying good night to her. He then comes to where I am and says “you wanted me to get her. I’ll do it but that’s what’s gonna happen.” Shaking his head at me. I then have to go in because she’s having a full on meltdown and gagging herself.
It just pisses me off how he thinks this is fair to me. For it to be on me because he can’t. He says because she wants Mama. Well she can have Daddy too dammit.
ETA: I wasn’t trying to create a little fight. I said “we should probably check on her” in passing. Like I looked at the clock and saw how long it had been.
