Dinner to coworker?

Is it weird for me to take dinner to my husbands coworker and his wife? I have a ton of social anxiety unless I really know people, but my husband came home and told me about his coworker and his wife who had just had their baby 2 weeks prior. Her birth was crazy traumatic like you wouldn’t even believe and I had one similar and I just sobbed when he told me about what had happened because I know how awful my own was and hers was so much worse. I’ve only met her once and I’ve never met him, but I just really felt like I wanted to do something for them. Is that weird??

I think it’s sweet. I would probably have your husband ask the husband if they’d like that. He could just say hey my wife is wanting to bring a meal over for yal, what do you like to eat? Give him the option to say no.

It's very thoughtful and not weird.  However, due to the amount of meals that show up at times like these I'd suggest a gift card for grubhub, door dash, uber eats, etc. that they can use when they want in case they already have a freezer and fridge overflowing with food.  That way you can mail it, place it in their mailbox, or your husband can give it to him directly to him if he's back at work with a card expressing your congratulations and a sentence or 2 about knowing how hard the adjustment can be and you hope the gc helps ease that so they don't have to worry about meals.

Definitely ask first. I think it’s a nice gesture but I don’t have the space to store extra food. 
Unrelated but when a loved one passed away everyone wanted to cook dinner and drop food off. So much food got wasted because we were not hungry while grieving and didn’t have room. So I would say, can we bring you dinner one day next week? Wednesday work? Let me know if you need anything. If you ever want to talk to someone who gets it, I’m here

This is what we do in my culture. We a family has a newborn, especially if the couple is getting no outside help, other friends and family cook, bring food, clean , and shop for them

No its not weird at all. If you just took the husband out to dinner I'd say yes. 🤣 I used to make baked goods and send them to work with my husband so he can share with his coworkers. I don't think it's weird at all. If anyone wants to bring me food after our son is born PM me for my address. 🤣🤣🤣
