Tell Santa ?????

How old was your child/children when you told them about Santa my son is 7 and he has almost cought me the last 2years doing the elf on the shelf I think I might tell him n I'll have a lil partner in crime knowing a have a 1 & 2 year old to but then I'm like noooo don't tell him becuz he won't keep his mouth shut I don't want him telling other kids

I’m 24 and still act as if Santa is real. It’s part of the Christmas magic. I don’t recall my mom ever telling me, and honestly i don’t know when i truly found out. I want my daughter to have that “Christmas magic” as long as possible, i don’t plan on telling her. I’ll just let her figure it out on her own like i did.

So I’m not there with my kiddos yet! But I will say my mom let me come to her and just ask “is Santa real?” And eventually once my brother hit a certain age he knew Santa wasn’t real but he hid it from me. I’d say I was about 7 or 8 when I found out. Definitely with my kids I’m not telling them I’ll let them come to me! Being a kid for me Santa was just this cool once a year spectacular thing, it seriously kept the spirit alive. My mom and I would even make “reindeer food” and we’d go outside and sprinkle it in the yard for the reindeer to find us! Certain traditions I like to be kept alive for my kids the way they were for me.

I never told my boys Santa wasn’t real, there 14 and 11 now. But then words have never came out my mouth too them and I never remember my mom telling us he wasn’t real/

We have told our 4 year-old from the get-go that Santa is a fun story that some people like to believe. She knows that Santa isn’t real, but we remind and teach her that people are allowed to believe what they’d like.

I don’t understand why anyone would tell their kid at a certain point, they will eventually find out on their own. My 6 and 7 year old still fully believe :)

We have a talk about the spirit of Santa. We(mum and dad) put the presents under the tree from Santa to spread Christmas joy and keep the spirits of Christmas . And since they know now they get to be a Santa too. Part of being a Santa is they can’t tell anyone else, and they should do kind things expecting nothing in return. Can show this by maybe doing something nice for a neighbour

We aren't doing Santa in our home. Sants will be just as fictional as vampires and witches.
