Healing after second degree tear

Hey mamas! Just wanted to see if Anyone has experience with healing after a second degree tear. I didn’t tear with my first baby at all, so this is new territory for me. My doctor says everything looks like it healed wonderfully, but I’m still experiencing pain at the spot where there is new skin during sex. Has anyone dealt with this with their first baby, and how long did it last? My biggest concern is that I might’ve gotten stitched up too tight.
