Trigger shot question

So the more I’m getting ready for this cycle and trigger shot again, I started thinking about what we did with our first two…I am convinced that I did not use the trigger shot until I got a positive opk at home. Now, this doctor is giving me the trigger shot as long as my ovarian ultrasound shows good follicles. I did some looking at journal articles and they show that the trigger shot is twice more effective when used in combination with a woman’s natural LH surge (aka positive opk). Anyone have success stories when not used with a positive opk??
