Moving after time wasting

I’ve been talking and In a situation with a guy for a year now. I knew going into this that he just got out of something so he was wasn’t ready to jump into something I understand. A year later I ask him what we are and he says we’re having fun friends and we’re living. I feel like that’s a slap in my face. He never had any intentions on being serious so why on earth waste my time. How do I move on I really like this guy and just feel hurt
