My husband works. A lot. He is often working 14+ days straight with no break and is just home at night. We have three kids, one with special needs. I take care of the kids and home entirely by myself. I am not resentful, as this is just the hand life has dealt us. We live far from family due to his work, so it just is what it is. I take care of all my son’s medical appointments, needs, etc. I do all of the household work. We are able to live a comfortable life financially at the least.

Anyway. When my husband finally gets a day off, he likes to take it upon his self to criticize the way I run my house. He will say the fridge is unorganized, or my pantry is unorganized. He will say he doesn’t like the way I have the furniture is arranged, or he doesn’t like that I let the kids keep their toys in the living room in storage boxes or that there is marker on the couch. He starts compulsively organizing and cleaning everything he thinks I don’t do well enough. Right now he is organizing the pantry because he thinks it weird I keep the cans of food with the crackers and pasta. He will spend all day doing things like this.

Am I wrong to be annoyed that he wants to clean and organize? I know most women would be ecstatic about this, but to me, it just makes me feel bad.
