Getting tested for pcos??

I’m trying to get a doctors appointment to discuss possibly having pcos and I just wondered what would happen at the appointment? Like what sort of questions should I ask? What type of questions will the doctor ask? What kind of tests do they do? I’m fairly certain I may have it as I’ve been ttc for about 15 months now and according to ovulation tests and bbt it looks like I may not be ovulating every month and my periods are really irregular I’m on cycle day 57 now. Can they give me clomid if I don’t ovulate every month? Sorry for so many questions but I’d like to be prepared

They’ll test your blood for a few different hormone levels, do an ultrasound to see if a “string of pearls” is visible and probably ask about cycle length, excess hair growth or any dark patches you may have. PCOS isn’t the same for everyone so they typically look for you to check a few of the boxes before they diagnose you.

I wouldn't go in specifically for PCOS testing. Lots of things cause irregular periods. I would tell your doctor your symptoms and ask for basic testing. That should include bloodwork and ultrasounds,  which would catch PCOS but also look for other things. Once they identify an issue, they will make a care plan, which could include Clomid potentially.

They typically do blood work to test AMH, LH and progesterone! They can also do an ultrasound to look at your ovaries. Clomid or letrozole are usually good options for not ovulating. I have PCOS and was prescribed letrozole
