Husband on blood pressure medicine- read this

Sasha

So we have been trying to concieve for a few years. We had one miscarriage then nothing. My husband was out on blood pressure medicine a couple months after our miscarriage. We went to Fertility doctors his sperm count was low and he had poor morphology. Our doctor suggested us doing IUI. We did two and they failed so that doctor suggested ivf. We decided to get another opinion. The doctor immediately told us we likely were not getting pregnant because of the high blood pressure medicine (amlodopine) my husband is on because it is a calcium blocker. Calcium blockers do not allow sperm to fertilize an egg. He took my husband off of it and is monitoring his blood pressure. He prescribed him clomid. Now it's a wait and see what happens. If you are ttc and your husband is on a calcium blocker that maybe the reason you are not conceiving.
