How would you understand this?

Question

So, im in a long distance relationship and yesterday when on call I told my boyfriend "i wish we could talk more" which made him upset and lead to an argument.
He understood it as me saying he isnt doing enough to talk with me and we dont talk enough.
I meant it as i miss you - the same way "i wish we could see each other more", "i wish we would be together more", "i wish we could cuddle" etc.
Its not a big deal but i just want to know if it was really that badly worded.

Idk but any convo about your feelings that turns into an argument is an issue to me. LDR or not. If he misunderstood then he could’ve just said that so you could clarify.

I have been in LDR and it’s so easy to misunderstand things.
Just clarify that isnt what you meant and just apologise but at the same time he shouldn’t get so easily annoyed.

We don't talk enough sounds like you're complaining.. Although I know you're not. Some people can be sensitive to what you say. It does mean the same thing but I miss you it a much nicer way of saying it. I do think you could explain this to him so he knows what you mean.
