Infant car seats

Question

Are you planning on getting an infant carseat or just going right to a convertible car seat?
I already have our convertible seat and am really debating the infant car seat.  The only reason I had one for my son was because the carseat was given to us brand new, but we really didn't keep him in it for longer than about 2 months as I hated lugging that thing around.  We moved him into the convertible car seat, I just wore him everywhere I went after that.  It seems silly to spend $100 on a seat that we will only use for a couple months when the convertible can accommodate babies as small as 4lbs.
Is anyone just doing the convertible car seat?

My son never ever slept in the car. I lugged him around for about 5 months and after that I was done. We moved him to a convertible seat. I’m using the same infant seat for my daughter and she only sleeps in the car 😂 she’s 5 months tomorrow and I have no plans of moving her until she outgrows the carrier because I can get all my shopping done without disturbing her. I have an awesome stroller though that I wish I’d had with my son, I may have kept him in the carrier longer if I’d had it with him. It’s a single but he’s 3 and hops on the front

I used the infant seat for my daughter for 9 months, although the last few months most of the time I left it in the car and just took her out of it. It was great though because she was born 3 months before covid started so if I had to take her out with my I would leave her in the car seat with a cover to keep her away from germs. Also because she’s a winter baby it was easier to buckle her in the house and cover her where it was warm and just have to click it in when we got outside. I am using the same seat now for my 3 month old son and I plan on keeping him in it all winter for the same reason, I already have to stand in the freezing cold to buckle my daughter I don’t want to have to do it for my son too.

100% would buy the doona 1000 times again if I had to. Worth every penny. My 13 month old hasn’t outgrew the weight or height limit and I plan on using it until he does. It has made everything so much easier. I can’t imagine having to carry an infant seat anywhere lol.

I always use the infant seat until at least 4 months soooo much better with a baby that fell asleep in the car 😂

I had one and I switched it out the first month. I think they are pointless. The only reason why we had it is because it came with our stroller. We gave it away to my parents It was too heavy and I never wanted to lug it around, even though my son was a teeny tiny baby (5lbs)  I even went to the stores and tried all the infant car seats and they’re all like 7lbs minimum. which doesn’t seem like a lot but if you have a 9 lb baby that’s already 16lbs and I had a c section so I was not allowed to carry that much for 6 weeks anyways.
