Taking toddler out of daycare for newborn?

Im getting induced around 37-38wks for hypertension and i have a 17month old that goes to daycare. She started in September and we’ve been sick every 2 weeks since then lol so im thinking of taking her out a week before induction and keeping her home for another 2-3weeks after just to limit germs for her, newborn and us! I would still have to oy for those days of course but 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would keep the routine as normal as possible for your toddler, and send to daycare every day like normal.

She’s going to get sick regardless if you take her out for two weeks. I don’t think that’s going to make a difference at all.

I mean I personally feel like if you're going to be home taking care of baby anyway it would be great to have your other child home with you too.

I’m doing this exact same thing. My toddler goes to a kids gym class once a week and parents always bring their kids sick so she’s not going for the whole month of December. Im due next week and she will go back in January. I didn’t want to risk being sick in the hospital or anyone being sick right after I get out.

Daycare meant routine for my oldest, which is what she thrives in. Also, I could not take proper care of my toddler just before giving birth or right after. Daycare was AMAZING.

My daughter doesn't go every day as I only work part time but I'm taking her out 2 weeks before my due date and I'm not sure yet when I'll send her back. But I only pay for the days she's in.

I kept my 20 month old in nursery when I had my second recently. It was good to keep her routine plus it meant we could chill out in the daytime with new baby rather than also entertaining a toddler. It can be quite a juggle having both of them home so near that in mind. I also wouldn’t expect nursery germs to have that much of an impact x
