Advice - Not sure what to do

Back story- my parents paid a full year upfront rent for a condo for me and my now ex

The father of my unborn child all of a sudden thinks that I should continue to pay my have of the rent for a condo that we used to share until the year is up because he’s struggling to pay my parents back the money and it’s my fault because I just up and left him alone. He clearly forgot the reason why I left, I left because he is an alcoholic and becomes extremely mean to me when intoxicated and one day he got extremely angry while intoxicated and started yelling and smashing shit so I packed my bags and left.

He make’s around $5000 a month and only has to pay my parents $2000 a month and the utilities are around $60 a month, plus his food and phone bill, so I’m not sure how he’s struggling. I’m honestly not sure what to do, I haven’t messaged him back yet.
