Oily Skin

Question

I’m 19, and I’ve been dealing with extremely oily skin since I hit puberty. I use Cerave facial wash, Clean and Clear Morning Burst wash, and several different moisturizers, exfoliating products, etc. I’m wondering if I have oily skin, or if my skin is always oily because it’s actually dry. I know little to nothing about skincare! My skin is always oily, but it’s also always dry and peeling in certain areas such as my forehead and my nose. What products would you recommend for my skin type? Should I see a dermatologist?

Use PanOxyl 10% benzoyl peroxide face wash, and the matching PanOxyl oil control ￼moisturizer for the oily parts on your face. Don't buy them from Amazon. Check for lower prices at other stores, like ￼Walmart. ￼For your dry t- zone, stick with the cerave face wash and a rich moisturizer like first aid beauty ￼ultra repair collagen cream.

Don’t use clean and clear! Cerve is one of the best choices. Are you using a moisturizer? You don’t seem to have widespread acne

I use simple products and they have been a game changer. Super simple ingredients and have been the best thing I’ve found for my face. I’ve struggled with acne all my life. Cetaphil is good too, cereve is also a great option. Try to find an oil-free moisturizer. Don’t skip the moisturizer because you think it will make your oily skin worse, it’s actually important when fighting acne to keep your face moisturized. Your skin can overproduce oil if it’s dry.

I struggled with horrible painful acne and I use Curology and it’s been a blessing!

Drink lots of water and a gentle cleanser for combination skin and moisturizer.  Do this twice a day in the morning and before bed. Reduce consumption of junk food, carbonated drinks and sugar!  You’ll see a huge difference in 3 weeks. If you can get a moisturizer with SPF, that would be better. The sun rays damage healthy skin cells and age your skin… hope this helps. I’m 38 and look like I’m in my 20’s. I always get carded for everything including lotto tickets cause my skin is so healthy and I have very few wrinkles.

Please don't follow these peoples advice. Im an esthetician. I highly recommend PCA skin. They have a fscial wash for oily skin. I would tone with this toner twice a day and use the clear skin moisturizer. They also have a clear skin retinol cream you could use twice a night at a week. That would also help. Just make sure you're wearing a light spf. Also, lots of korean brands have water-base spfs and moisturizers that are super light.

Hey! I’m in esthetician school and have also gone through something similar. One thing I can say about skin is that it’s definitely different based on the person. My cheeks, forehead and nose are super oily but my chin can get really dried out. Something that has been working for me is to use a face wash for oily skin. It will typically dry you out so you have to go back in with a really hydrating moisturizer. Water based cleansers and vitamin c would be good for washing and something like a husky tonic gel with a moisturizer as well. I actually live in Japan so the product I use I cannot pronounce but I do use first aid beauty moisturizer and I love it.
