Too young?

My bf and I have been together for a while, very healthy, loving relationship. We live on our own and I’m a step momma to his 3 yr old daughter and I just got off my birth control. I’m 19 almost 20 and he’s 22. we are starting to talk about having a baby. Is that too young in peoples eyes or is it just a statistic?

You are only 19 years old. You have a lot of growing up to do. You should focus on education, a career, becoming fully financially stable, establishing your relationship and moving it forward before thinking about a child. Also he already has a child and is a very young father to have a 3 year old and she should be focused on right now as well.
You both have many years of growing up and maturing to do.
Why not figure out what you want to do with your life, become fully financially stable, make sure you will actually stay together, get married and buy a home before bringing a child into your life? You all are just coming out of your teens and you don't know if you'll even stay together. There are other steps to take first to assure future children will have a stable healthy happy life. Don't skip over multiple steps at just 19 years old. You have to think about what would be best for a child and yourself.

It's your decision just be aware that you will be giving up on allot and so will he. I believe young people can make great parents as much as older ones. Just make sure that's what you really want.

Create a 3-5-10 year plan First. Get your utmost dreams out there, see all of your debts, financial stability and what that LOOKS like in the future, not just today. You have a lovely 3 year old to love for now, get married, focus on your holistic health, and then prepare for family planning.
This is my opinion, take what serves. But you are really young and I know it doesn’t mean much but I’m 25, in a healthy relationship and heading toward marriage. Every cycle I want a baby, I want to provide the best life for my babies so I’m holding off until we have true financial freedom which is already in action. Take care of Yourself First, then you can Best take care of others. 
Have you read books over emotional intelligence? Maybe mother wound/father wound books as well. 
Seriously, 19 is Young and the life ahead of you will go by faster than you realize. Take a deep breathe and know that Life will unfold you into a better being and prepare you for your family…bringing a whole human being into this world is big responsibility. It’s a beautiful gift of service we have, to birth humanity into existence. Make sure you are Optimal as possible to actually nurture and care for the next generation. Much love ❤️

I personally wouldn’t have children until you’re married to. I had my first baby at 25 am so love being a mom but I wish I would have done a few more things first. Vacation is no longer a vacation when you have children.

Amazing you stepped up to the plate being a mama for his other kid. My recommendation is to get married first. Although I would agree with many saying that 19 is rather young, I think more importantly being lifelong committed to each other is more important. The reason I say this is because baby’s are no joke…they will divide and conquer unless you are completely in it with each other. My husband and I have a loving and solid relationship (we’re together for 8 hrs before married, 9 before first baby). First baby flipped my world…we had more arguments and issues while pregnant and certainly after baby was born. If we hadn’t been married, it would have been so easy to just split (not saying we would have but the option would have been MiCh easier). 
If I were you, I’d say you stepped up as being a step mama, it’s time for him to step up and make you his wife. Make it legal, make your step mama title legal, and then proceed. I wish you the best of luck! 💗

If you have the financial resources and are in a healthy relationship able to care for another child then it’s up to you. But that is very young to commit to being responsible for another human, especially when he already has one kid. I waited until I was in my late 20s to have my first and I an so thankful I took the time to enjoy my 20s and make awesome memories with my husband before having kids. I still love my life but we have so much less freedom now and far more responsibilities. Personally I’d enjoy being child free at least a few more years 😊
