Higher HCG Levels, Doctor Recommends Viability Scan

Michaela

Hello, Ladies!

This is my 1st pregnancy! I just found out on Sunday. I am 5 weeks, today. I have been very nervous about being able to stay pregnant since all of my friends have had so many miscarriages.

I just switched ob-gyns, and I requested to have my blood drawn to check my hcg levels, because they said they didn't need to see me until my 8 week ultrasound. They agreed, and my levels were 1075 (4w4d) and 2708 (4w6d).

When I called to get those results, the doctor had made a note that I needed to schedule a 6week viability scan...does this mean that they suspect something is wrong since my levels are on the higher side?

I also went from a 28 waist to a 33 waist since last week, feel like I can't keep my blood glucose regulated, alternating cramping on each side of my abdomen, and have been very dizzy/unstable.

Anyone have thoughts or anything about any of this being abnormal, or the doctor wanting to schedule a viability scan? I'm so scared. 😔

My BMI is 23; I am 27y/o; no major health concerns; aside from interstitial cystitis, kidney stones, hypoglycemia, and joint problems. I was on phentermine up until Sunday, but came off as soon as I found out about the baby.

Thank you in advance! 💙💕
