What do I do…?

My boyfriend and I have been together 4 months. I really like him and have been happiest in this relationship compared to any other relationship. He seriously is amazing and makes me feel so good about myself.

A few days ago he almost broke up with me. He basically said he doesn’t want to hold me back from achieving my dreams, doesn’t feel like he’s up to par, and doesn’t feel like he benefits me enough. He also mentioned his heart isn’t in the same place as it once was.

We have always had a strong and healthy relationship where we have worked on making sure we both have good communication. After discussing this situation, we did not break up. He said he would like to re-evaluate this in July (6ish months because he may have a new job by then where he would have more hours and our time together would likely decrease some) since he may have had bad judgment in the moment. Personally, I think we’ve just hit a place where our relationship isn’t as exciting as in the beginning which I know is a common thing that happens to relationships. I also want to note his effort in our relationship has decreased, which I have communicated to him, but he’s also just a really chill guy in general who isn’t super romantic.

So here are my questions:

1. Does this seem normal? I believe he is sincere and wants a relationship to work with me.

2. While he told me I haven’t done anything wrong and have genuinely made him feel happy and loved, I feel like there’s things I could still do to get our relationship back on track. Any ideas?
