Is this normal? Post Covid

My whole family and I caught Covid right after Christmas. I started getting a fever on December 27th. I was extremely sick, like my fever was almost 105°F. I ended up going to the hospital with shortness of breath. The bulk of it passed after about a week but I am STILL symptomatic today. I have negative tests, but I’m still coughing with some congestion and phlegm. Everyone else in my family is completely fine, but I wake up every morning with so much fogginess. I had a chest X-ray that was clear. My PCP doesn’t have any available appointments until fucking March. So really the only place I could go is an urgent care clinic where I feel like they’d just give me antibiotics to pacify me or tell me to see my regular doctor. I hate feeling like this! I’m a normal, healthy 33 yr old with no health conditions. I was also vaccinated. 🤡🥲🥲
Is it normal to be taking this long to get better? I am not feverish anymore and I’m going about my regular activities. I’m just tired of coughing.

Sounds like you had a really rough round of covid.
Unfortunately, the more sick you get, the more likely it is to take a long time to feel better.
So coughing and coughing phlegm up is normal. It can last many weeks. Up to two months if I remember correctly.

My kids’ doctor has told me that a cough 2-4 weeks after any virus is normal. My kids take that 2-4 weeks to the max and will usually cough a good month after otherwise feeling well.
But also long Covid is a thing. I’d make an appointment with your PCP. If you feel better before March, fantastic, cancel the appointment. If you still feel bad then you get to see them. And many offices will contact you if there’s a cancellation and they can get you in earlier.

It is normal, covid hits different people differently. I've had it twice, both times I had 1 bad day of fever, body aches, congestion and fatigue. Followed by 2 days of gradually getting better, then I was fine. Lost my taste/smell the 2nd time, but it came back after a week. My MIL, who has asthma and COPD(still smokes though 🙄), got the long term version and had a cough for months and keeps getting sinus infections.

I would say yes. Although your testing negative I believe symptoms stay in your system alot longer. Hence why at first they were saying if you still have a cough after testing negative stay indoors. It's all changed bow, but when I had covid, I lost my sense of smell and taste. They still haven't returned to normal and I had covid a year ago! It's really is a big thing! It's a horrible flu to catch! Hope you feel better soon 🤞

I've had a chronic productive cough since I had covid.... Last June. It took a good month to actually feel better and not get absolutely flattened just walking to the bathroom. But yeah the cough never resolved and every bug my kids bring home exacerbates it.

I had COVID march 2020. I can remember a flight of stairs feeling like running a marathon huffing and puffing. Everyone reacts differently. My mom brought it home. It was like a cold for her. Me, with asthma, blood disorder, etc. it kicked my ass. I had long term COVID. For months. It messed up my menstrual cycle for a good year. It was all over the place. 10,15,20 days late, 4 days early, 9 days early which gave me 2 cycles in one month. Still all over the place. But I think it’s Perimenopause now. Be prepared for the unexpected basically.
