Crazy ex

So I dated this guy for almost a year and finally cut ties with him. In the beginning it was great! We had passion and love and we’re instantly connected. Then slowly my parents started getting involved and making our relationship very difficult to bear. It got to the point where they would refuse to let me see him and I had to sneak around in order to go on dates or just go shopping with him. I tried to get out of my household and my parents called the cops forcing me to go home and telling me that my dad had a restraining order put on him by my boyfriend because he threatened to kill my boyfriend in front of cops. My boyfriend wasn’t involved in this at all. We continued to date in secrecy for months and eventually gave me a phone to contact him on freely. Then slowly I noticed he started getting possessive and toxic and we were constantly fighting. I go to break up with him and he gives me a gorgeous promise ring saying he will do better. Weeks go by and he doesn’t and I try breaking up with him 3 more times. Nothing. My parents eventually found the phone and broke it then confirming he was out of my life for good. He started reaching out again and asking to at least be friends because we promised forever in anyway possible. I don’t feel like I can handle being near him let alone friends now or in the near future. I love him still and god the sex was good so for my own sake I’m trying to maintain space. Especially cause he is trying to get involved with me having male friends and talking to other guys romantically, saying I was cheating on him the whole time and how he has girls asking for sex but he wants us and all this other stuff saying he never liked me having male friends. I want a clean start and the ability to live my life. I don’t know what to do anymore with this situation and just try to move forward but he keeps bringing me back. What should I do or say? Cause I’ve tried directly telling him he’s not my boyfriend to back off and I’ve tried Nicely saying I’m not interested in a future at the moment. Ugh! Boys suck!
