Few questions for anyone that’s a healthcare worker

Me

So I injured myself at work about 2 weeks ago. I saw a workman’s comp doctor and was told I sprained the middle of my spine since that’s where I’m mostly feeling the pain. It’s been getting worse and I started to feel it in my lower back as well and was told that I also sprained my lower spine. They sent me to physical therapy today and while the exercises weren’t very painful at the time, I’m now very uncomfortable. I had to put something to cushion my back while I was driving to a different doctor because of how uncomfortable and painful this is. My case manager told me to call her after my PT appointment and I did. She told me that since the therapist said my back muscles are tight which is normal after an injury and normal for me period and since they used a tens device that it’s a muscle problem. I’ve had tight muscles and have strained one before, never has the pain worsened over time and never has it lasted this long. My gut tells me it’s not a muscle injury. I literally can’t do anything without being in pain. Walking, sitting, standing, laying down, brushing my hair, simply feeding my dogs, and etc all hurt. I feel like I’m at about a 7-8 pain wise and nothing really brings much relief. I was prescribed a muscle relaxer and told to take aleve but neither are helping at all. It’s like eating candy. I know no one here can diagnose me but someone please tell me I’m not wrong to think something more is wrong than what I’m being told.
