If you work, who helps you with your kids?
This post is NOT for bashing anyone, or hateful comments. So please keep it kind. ❤️
I have been fortunate enough to be able to work part time and still make ends meet. My children are both in preschool from 8 AM until 2:30 PM. I work during school hours, and I am off in time to pick them up at 2:30. I have had a really great job offer come up for me, and I would be an idiot to let it pass me up. I would have benefits finally, be making a little more money, and be working for the city that I live in. My problem is that the job is from 8 AM until 5:00 PM on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I will still be able to get my kids on Mondays and Tuesdays at 2:30 like usual.
My question is, if you have children, how do you make it work with getting them to and from school and working a full-time job?
Do you have someone that helps you after school? Is your spouse hours better for accommodating the school schedule? What about events at the school on days that you work? I have been fortunate enough to work around their schedule so far, but I’m afraid I won’t be now. Like I said, this job is such a good one, that I don’t want to let it pass me up. I do not have friends or family in the town that I live in, so I have been trying to find a sitter to pick them up from school, and take them home until I get off of work. So far, I have not been successful, but I am still looking.
I know this is long winded, and I apologize, I’m just trying to figure out how other parents pull this off. I am stressing so hard. Also, my kids are in preschool, so there is no afterschool care available there.
