Spotting instead of period

Anyone experience brown/light pinkish spotting instead of period? It was for 3-4 days and It was only when I wiped no tampon, panty liner, or pad needed I thought for sure af was coming as I had pms symtoms on and off (sore breast, nausea) but she never came and it’s about time for my next period which doesn’t seem like is coming I have an appointment scheduled for Monday just curious if anyone has experienced anything like this and what was the outcome?
