I have the IUD (mirena) and have had it for about a year and half now. I’ve struggled with it since I got it and considered getting it removed. Just when I thought I was good and we’re getting consistent, monthly periods (very minimal spotting) I’m 12 days late. I don’t know if it’s the nerves or what but I feel like I see the faintest line.

I don’t see anything either. I had no. Three years and then about a year and a half ago I started getting one to two days of brown spotting every 22-25 days. 
My doctor says with the IUD your body kind of just does whatever

I have a very heavy flow normally and I started using and iud about three years ago, the skyla and my period was still there. I replaced it for the mirena which I have now and it’s changed my period a lot for the first month I was spotting then my period came but like two weeks late and then this last period was also late but much lighter than normal. If during your follow up after inserting says everything is fine and there’s no pain the iud should be working fine and preventing any pregnancies. I have sex unprotected with my partner since I used my first iud and have never had a scare.

I had mirena and after a year of having it my periods stopped completely. I didn't have my period for almost 2 years before I decided to remove it.
