Fell down stairs and placental abruption
I’m 22wks. I fell down carpeted stairs last night. I landed on my butt (and it hurts) but I didn’t hit my belly, had no bleeding, or serious stomach pain. I feel the baby moving like normal. I didn’t really think much of it because I didn’t hit my belly.
Today I just so happened to have a drs appt. I told them what happened and they said they were supposed to monitor me for 4hrs anytime after a fall to make sure there is no placental
abruption. The doc didn’t seem that nervous though (probably because I had no symptoms).
She did a routine Doppler reading and we could hear the heartbeat from the umbilical cord (150) but she couldn’t find the actual baby. I have an anterior placenta and she said that’s probably why she can’t find the baby but that the cord beat is the baby’s heart working that fast. She said she’s not worried.
Anyway, now I’m worried. Should I double check all is good? You think I’m fine? I feel like she was kind of in a rush but I feel like if there were something wrong she wouldn’t let me go. I mean I don’t see any indicators of why I should be worried but I am lol
