Am I being Insensitive?

Next weekend is my Birthday and doing a get together with our families. This has been announced a month in advance. But last week my dad lost his license from a incident he had during work and is waiting for his pending hearing. Anyway, so I told my brother we’ll be picking them up around noon. He tells me, he thought they weren’t going because my parents are stressed out because if my dad loses his license he’ll have to quit his job. My mom says they’ll come the week after.

I get the situation that’s why I’m accommodating and them Sitting at home won’t fix the problem. I told my brother it’s not that I’m not getting it but everytime there’s a get together, it’s like pulling teeth and they tend to cancel last minute for some excuse or another and it’s so disappointing .

Well, it hurts my feelings because my parents are a no show for most (family) occasions.

I’m so hurt and disappointed that in the future I’m not sure I want to bother!
